Teaching takes place in small groups and is based on developing and improving all four language skills in a highly creative and spontaneous way through activities that interest elementary school children. Children will acquire new grammatical and lexical units through their favorite social games and activities. Our goal is to increase children’s self-confidence in using a foreign language. Speaking in English from the beginning of the program and thanks to the most modern teaching methods, participants of the Belgrade Language Camp will break down all language barriers and learn correct pronunciation, guided by a team of highly qualified lecturers.
The methods of teaching in the Summer Campare far from traditional school teaching, which implies the strict use of textbooks and the frequent application of the grammar-translation methods. Although the topics covered in our classrooms follow the participants’ knowledge level, age, and interests, dealing with these topics is innovative. Developing all language skills is encouraged in a highly creative way, emphasizing the development of speaking skills. In addition to the language, the camp participants will gain invaluable knowledge about the culture and traditions of the English-speaking countries.
The lecturers at the Belgrade Language Camp are English language teachers with degrees. They are highly skilled philologists, exceptional pedagogues, and experts in their work. All lecturers at the EQUILIBRIO language camp specialize in working with primary school children and have many years of experience.
Teaching at the EQUILIBRIO language camp is conducted in mentoring groups. Thanks to this, phenomenal results and the fulfillment of the goals we set are quickly and easily achieved. Working in mentoring groups allows the application of an individual approach and various group activities, which are essential for the acquisition of a foreign language by children.
After the activities inside the classroom, the campers and their teachers will be joined by a team of young but experienced professional associates, guides, athletes, and animators. Afternoon outdoor activities are designed to give children the opportunity to participate in numerous language and sports games and to spend time away from computers, television, and mobile phones in an active, fun, and extremely high-quality way.
During all activities inside, in the classroom, and outside, in nature, participants of the EQUILIBRIO language camp will communicate in English. All professors, guides, animators, and associates who spend time with children will speak to them and address them exclusively in a foreign language. The goal of the Program is for the campers to gain confidence and completely free themselves in communicating in the foreign language they are learning, and this is the easiest to achieve through creative and fun activities adapted to the children’s ages and interests.
The organization of each day, from the beginning of the first lesson to the end of extracurricular activities (during the implementation of the Program), is also the responsibility of the organization of the EQUILIBRIO KIDS Language Center. The parents must bring their child to the Center at 8:30 a.m. at the earliest and pick up their child at 5 p.m.
Given that the EQUILIBRIO Summer Language Camp includes daily socializing outside the classroom when the weather conditions permit, most participants opt to buy bottled water, some other beverage, or their favorite candy, so we recommend that the amount of pocket money they have every day is no more significant than 150 to 200 dinars.
Attending the EQUILIBRIO language camp aims to free the participants to communicate in English. This is precisely why, when forming groups, we try to consider both the age and interests of the primary school students and their prior knowledge of the English language. Homogeneous groups and individual approaches to all participants will make the progress in communication in the foreign language faster and easier.
All participants of the EQUILIBRIO language camp will, upon completion of the program, at the final ceremony, receive a certificate for completing the two-week intensive language training program. In addition to general certificates, we have also prepared special certificates for the BEST campers and for those who have shown the most diverse talents and valuable qualities.
Yes, prior knowledge is necessary regardless of whether the child is a junior or senior elementary school student. Previous knowledge of the English language is essential because, during the camp’s implementation, we will passively activate and expand existing knowledge through carefully selected and detailed activities. Children can navigate and communicate in the target language after finding themselves in real, everyday situations. This is how we achieve our main goal: communication in the target foreign language.
Unfortunately, there is no such possibility. The camp is designed as an all-day get-together so that during the morning activities, the children are lexically and grammatically prepared for the tasks and challenges they will face on the same day during the afternoon activities. In this regard, the afternoon activities do not function independently of the morning activities but are inseparable. We offer every student a chance to refresh their knowledge and learn something new, this time emphasizing practical applicability in real-life circumstances.
